A conference on ‘Enhancing Effectiveness’ was held at Gyan Sarovar, from 19th to 23rd May 2007. The conference was inaugurated by Mr S K Roongta, Chairman, SAIL, Delhi. Dr Srikumar Banerjee, Director, BARC was the chief guest at the inaugural function. Some of the other dignatories who addressed the conference in various sessions were – Mr V K Sriastava, MD, Bokaro Steel Plant, Mr R V Gupta, Addl.Director, Heavy Water Board, Mumbai, Dr B S Modi, Principal Scientist, IARI, Karnal, Mr S K Sharma, GM, Bhilai Steel Plant, Mr G C Singhal, GM, Hindal Co.Industries, Renusagar, Mr G C Mishra, GM, B & P. Various aspects as personal, professional, social, mental, mangaerial etc which have influence on effectiveness were dealt by learned speakers. In concurrent sessions on Factors influencing effectiveness in my professional field – Various factors such as Action, Belief, Commitment, Determination & Entrepreneurship were discussed by the participants. Core values for organisational effectiveness was the theme of Panel discussion in which experts from various professional were the panel members. The valedictory session saw the Actional Plan for enhancing effectiveness.
