The Campaign on Nature, Environment and Disaster Management was launched at Cuttack on 4th September 2011. Shri Suryo Narayan Patro, Hon’ble Minister, Revenue & Disaster Management, Govt. of Orissa inaugurated the campaign. Shri Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Hon’ble Minister, Energy, Orissa, Shri T. Ramachandru, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Industries, Orissa, Shri Mahendra Pratap, IPS, IGP (Home Guard & Fire Services) were present as Chief Guest and Guests of Honour respectively. BK Mohan Singhal has given the keynote speech and BK Pius addressed the audience about aim and objective of the campaign. After the Launching ceremony BK brothers and sisters participated in a rally in Cuttack city with slogans in their hands inspiring people about environment protection.
The campaign covered nine districts of Orissa in 20 days from 4th September to 23rd September. On its way, programmes were conducted in 36 industries and 27 educational institutions including 8 public programmes were conducted in district headquarters. Campaigners went to Keonjhar jail and Baripada Jail to create awareness among the prisoners. Around 81 programmes were conducted in which around ten thousand people have been benefitted. Everybody appreciated the understanding of role of spirituality in Nature, Environment & Disaster Management.
